Helllloooo rizzlers! We posted a ton since last month huh? Though I guess itās only appropriate, given that it was Pride month and all. Hope youāve been well and all, yadda yadda, but most importantly- we hope youāve tried out the updated demo for Rizz Dungeon: Skeleton Key to My Heart (and if you havenāt, that you might nowā¦?) (Or at least wishlistā¦ā¦?? If you want⦠Blinks at you so cutefullyā¦)
Speaking of wishlists, thatās our THE GREAT news-
Rizz Dungeon has surpassed 70k total wishlists!!!!
Thatās amazing! Thatās crazy numbers!!!! Seventy thousand people who are interested in our silly, cringey game⦠thatās more than the people who live in my city, yāknow?! Imagining a world where every single person I pass on the street is a Rizz Dungeon fan⦠woah⦠Actually, I think Iād get self-conscious really fastā¦
Anyhow, thatās an incredibly motivating number! We hope to continue to work hard and match everyoneās expectations!
And SPEAKING of working hard, thatās our THE GOOD news-
Many bugs have been slaughtered! (In our game, of course. Most of the team is far too cowardly to hit a cockroach with a slipper.)
We set up a pretty extensive bug catching system, and have been going through everyoneās bug reports thoroughly! A huge, huge thank you to everyone who has reported bugs, whether that be via the feedback form, our Discord (which, if youāre interested- have you joined?), or some other method! We try our best to catch these things pre-release, but weāre obviously only five (5) fellas. With your help, weāve squashed even the super-scary Sleepover crashing bug- so if you wanted to go on a date with the Bride but just couldnāt for some reason, nowās your time! Hereās a list of some of the big bugs killed, and features improved:
Bug Graveyard
- Sleepovers launching with the wrong or invisible Monster Girl. (We werenāt updating their positions in the Inn properly! Oops!)
- Fixed dialogue not disappearing automatically when no input is required. (Such as dialogue for finding clues in the dungeon.)
- Made dialogue not block opening chests or interacting with other interactables.
- The mouse now reappears properly when clicking after using the keyboard for inputs.
- The battle action bar now has proper keyboard support.
- Prevented players from breaking up with the tutorial Slime before fighting the Goblin to prevent a soft-lock.
- Fixed several sleepovers to have proper emotions & to prevent crashes.
Improvements
- Added Steam Deck support! The game uses the Steam Deck keyboard when naming a Monster Girl, along with setting the resolution & full-screen properly.
- The party display on the top left now lightly flashes when a Monster Girl is taking their turn or affected by a large chunk of triggers.
- The Narrator speaks a LOT LESS in battles.
- Less dialogue in battles require player input, as many have been moved to a new pink bar on the top.
- That new pink bar also gives feedback to the player throughout the UI where there previously was none.
- Added a Photosensivity Warning like in Turnip Boy Robs a Bank.
- The Mood system has been updated to have more expected results to certain actions, and some mood triggers have been lightly updated.
- Added locked hearts in the Monster Mover to show that the 1 heart max for the demo is simply just for the demo.
Uhm⦠I donāt have a good transition for The Iffy. Nothing too bad, thankfully~
Basically, as per the latest demo update, save data files need to be manually moved⦠To clarify, NO DATA IS LOST, Yukon just messed up a few things on the build settings in the hustle of getting the build up for Next Fest. Iāll pass it over to her to explain how to get rizzing again, kya~!!!
How to transfer your demo save file to newer versions of the game!
HEADS UP!!! You only need to do this if you played an earlier version of the game, such as v0.64 and below! New players donāt need to do this.
First, open up an updated version of the Rizz Dungeon: Skeleton Key to My Heart Demo (v0.66 or above) and start a new game. Complete the first floor (you can spam F & space to get through dialogue REALLY QUICK) and use the ladder to head down to the second floor. You should see a saving icon on the top right, and if you do, you can spam through the dialogue, pause, and quit the game. This creates the folders needed where we will be moving our save files into.
Alright, now with the demo closed, pop open your file browser and head to the directory for your operating system:
- Windows: %APPDATA%\Godot\app_userdata\Rizz Dungeon- Skeleton Key to My Heart\saves\
- macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Godot/app_userdata/Rizz Dungeon- Skeleton Key to My Heart/saves/
- Linux: ~/.local/share/godot/app_userdata/Rizz Dungeon- Skeleton Key to My Heart/saves/
(Most file browsers have a āGo Toā function you can paste these directories into. Oh, and if you donāt see the folders, you might have to turn on the āView Hidden Filesā setting in your file browser.)
You should see a ādefaultā folder. Open it up, and copy the ādemoā folder, as this is your save file.
NOTE: If you do NOT have a ādefaultā folder, and instead ONLY have a folder named with a bunch of random numbers, open that folder instead and copy the ādemoā folder inside it. This indicates that you have an old save that the modern Rizz Dungeon: Skeleton Key to My Heart Demo cannot read, but will still grant the Demo(n) Bouquet in the full game if transferred.
Now, navigate to a new directory based on your operating system:
- Windows: %APPDATA%\Snoozy Kazoo\Rizz Dungeon Skeleton Key to My Heart\saves\
- macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Snoozy Kazoo/Rizz Dungeon Skeleton Key to My Heart/saves/
- Linux: ~/.local/share/Snoozy Kazoo/Rizz Dungeon Skeleton Key to My Heart/saves/
Within this folder, you should see a folder named with a bunch of random numbers. Open that folder up, delete everything inside, and paste the ādemoā folder in here!
After that, you should be able to just open up the Rizz Dungeon: Skeleton Key to My Heart Demo and play like normal! The game might label your slots as āunregisteredā, but it should load like normal and once you save a slot again itāll fix its name.
Hope this helps, and Iām sorry for the inconvenience! šāāļø Iām still learning Godot, but I now have really solid tools, so this shouldnāt happen again in the future!
That's a wrap for now!
Thank you for reading this devpost! It means a lot to us that you're keeping up with our wacky antics! š
See yah next time! š
